Course Aims:
This course gives you the opportunity to study television, film, radio, newspapers and magazines. You will gain an understanding of how the mass media works and find out about what goes on behind the scenes.
Course Description:
You will produce three pieces of coursework when you study this course. Some of the work will involve you planning and creating your own designs. You will learn about different areas of the media and how we are all influenced and affected by it. The course aims to develop your understanding of how consumers are targeted and how products are promoted and marketed in the 21st century. You will also learn about how new technologies are having a great influence upon the ways in which the media works.
How will I learn:
Traditional learning methods will be used but you will also be given the opportunity to analyse current media texts and forms through interactive methods e.g. using computers and video cameras.
