Course Aims:
Candidates are offered opportunities to create business and communication systems to carry out a range of tasks and to solve problems, making use of relevant terminology, principles and methods; to develop a broad and balanced experience of the range of business and communication systems and their applications and an understanding of their capabilities and limitations in supporting the business organisation; to apply their knowledge and critical understanding to issues and problems, distinguish between facts and opinions and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data to make informed judgements, appreciate the perspectives of a range of stakeholders in a range of appropriate contexts.
Course Description:
This is a broad-based qualification providing a practical introduction to ICT and business systems. It contains a balanced spread of content covering the Applications of ICT; Business practice; People in the workplace; Communication; Law in the workplace.
How will I learn:
Candidates learn, through a range of practical activities: How to prepare business documents ; How to use software; How to use ICT and business equipment; How business and communication systems are used in the workplace. Assessment consists of a written examination and coursework, based on a scenario about a business. Coursework consists of an integrated assignment set by OCR. Coursework is worth 40% and examination is worth 60% of the total marks .
