Course Title: Leisure and Tourism

Course Aims:

To prepare pupils for a career in the leisure or tourism industries or for study of these areas at a higher level.

Course Description:

This course allows pupils to study the different types of leisure activities and why people take part in them. Pupils study tourism including popular destinations and reasons for the boom in tourism at the moment. Pupils study the marketing of leisure and tourism and customer service giving links with business studies.

There is one final paper and coursework which runs throughout the course

How will I learn:

The lessons will have opportunities for study at the pupils own pace and level. The course has elements of both theory and practical work.

A number of visits are possible including a residential field trip which will be on offer in year 10.
