The Head Teachers Vision

Dear Parents/Carers

As the new Headteacher, I am delighted to welcome you to The Venerable Bede Church of EnglandSchool as it enters an exciting phase. The school is a Voluntary Aided Comprehensive School for boys and girls aged 11-16; our ethos statement shares our vision that all students have the right to an inclusive environment where they can enjoy their learning and develop lifelong skills. We offer students the chance to be part of our community and to develop into caring and mature individuals with a thirst for knowledge and a willingness to contribute to the communities in which they live. We have strong links with national and international communities and enjoy raising funds for many charities, encouraging in our students a desire to make a difference to the world.

Our school environment is fantastic and offers students a chance to learn and pursue excellence together in a stimulating setting. The facilities offer state-of-the-art technology, as well as learning spaces that promote creativity and imagination. We have pride in our school and I am delighted that you are considering The Venerable Bede as the next step in your child’s education. I am confident that we can provide the right level of challenge and stimulation for each of our students; our excellent exam results this summer show the commitment of all members of staff in the pursuit of academic success.

The partnership between school and home is extremely important to us and crucial to the success of our young people. We will keep you very well informed about the progress of your child and invite you to share in their success. Fostering a strong relationship between parents/carers and the school is one of our principal aims and I welcome you to contact the school at any time. If you would like to visit during a school day, I would be delighted to arrange for you to be shown around the school and answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to working with you to provide the best opportunities for all students at our school.

Warm regards

Gill Booth
Headteacher
