Welcome to Venerable Bede

Venerable Bede School Information

School InformationOur mission at the Venerable Bede is to 'create a stimulating, secure and Caring environment within which all members of our community will realise their potential in the light of the Christian Gospel'.

The school is a Church of England School, and the Church appoints the majority of the Governing Body. The beliefs of the Church of England are fundamental to the life of the school. There will be a daily act of worship for all students. The school has a policy for collective worship; copies are available from the Principal on request. Celebrations of Holy Communion will take place on a regular basis in the school.

Students will receive religious education according to the doctrine and practices of the Church of England. As a Church school, we expect all students to participate in Religious Education and collective worship, but we acknowledge parents/carers rights to withdraw their children from these activities.

Our school has some of the best educational facilities in the region; all teaching rooms have been designed to incorporate the latest Information Communications Technologies to deliver the National Curriculum.

All students at our school are encouraged to work hard and display high standards of behaviour in order to achieve their full potential. Our aim is to prepare students so they are equipped for life after school in further education, training or the work place. For all parents/carers the successful education of their son/daughter is a priority. To this end, school and parents/carers must enter into a partnership, ensuring that each student receives the support and encouragement necessary for academic success.
