Planning for your first day…

- The night before, put in your bag the things you will need for the next day.

- Remember, on your first day you will be given some time to arrange lunch, lockers and time tables in your tutor group.

What should you include in your schoolbag every day?
- Locker key
- Packed lunch (unless you’re having a school dinner)
- Calculator
- Pen
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Reading book
- PE kit in a plastic bag (on the appropriate day)
During Learning…

- Your new teachers will know about the work you have done at primary school and will not be making it too hard for you.
- Never be afraid to ask!

After Your First Few Days…

- ln Primary school you probably had one teacher for your class.
- Now in your new school, you have lots of teachers – teaching you different subjects: all teaching you in different ways.
- By now you have probably met all your teachers who are going to teach you in different subjects. Maybe you have realised that no two lessons are the same!

Being Part of the Community…

- Be friendly, kind and helpful.

There will be lots of unfamiliar people in your new school…
- People have different ways of wanting things done.
- People have different sorts of voices. Some soft. some LOUD.
- People speak at different rates – some quickly and some more slowly.
- People dress differently.
- People walk. sit or stand differently.
