Our expectation is for everyone in our academy community to be Ready, Respectful and Safe.
Should a student choose not to follow the Code of Conduct, consequences may include:
- Cautions
- Verbal warning
- Detentions
- Behavioural referral
- Suspensions
It is really important that pupils who follow the school rules are rewarded for their positive approach to school life and for ‘getting it right’.
Each week teachers and support staff nominate ‘Soaring Stars’ to celebrate achievement, effort, positive actions and contributions to the school community. They also make three positive calls home each week to celebrate acheivements.
Pupils can access the school reward shop and ‘spend’ their positive points as a trat to themselves for their achievements.
There are also a wide range of reward trips and visits throughout the year.
Arbor
Venerable Bede CE Academy utilises an online system called Arbor.
Arbor is a system that is used for attendance purposes, to record positive and negative behaviour. We believe in working closely with parents and one of the key benefits of using Arbor is that are able to securely share your child’s attendance and behaviour report with you in real-time across the day.
Arbor significantly enhances the close communication between home and school. On a daily basis, you will be able to see how well your child is engaging in their lessons and monitor attendance to school.
