Transition Hub - Venerable Bede CE Academy

Dear Parent / Carer / New Y7 Pupils,

Welcome to the transition section of our school website. We have worked together to include a wide variety of resources to make the transition to Venerable Bede CE Academy as smooth as possible. We would encourage parents/carers to work with their child to explore all of the sections on the left-hand side of this page.

It is my pleasure to welcome you, as we start this 5-year journey together through secondary school. Our aim is to work in collaboration with you so that your child gets the most out of this exciting and formative time.

It is our hope that as pupils continue to grow, they keep an inquiring mind and an openness to learn new things. Our aim is that together we develop each pupils’ character so that they have the grit, optimism, self-control, gratitude, and curiosity to develop learning for life.

It is of equal importance that our young people develop their spiritual understanding of; themselves, the wider world around them, and their place in this 21st Century World. We want pupils to develop awe and wonder in their world, to enable them to continue to grow in faith and in the light of the Christian Gospels. This is embodied in our School motto “Soar to the Heights Together” which is inspired by a reading from Isiah.

Isaiah 40:21-31

Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

This embodies our hopes for each child, as they grow and take their place in society.
